Så går vi vidare med den näst sista avdelningen av Fox gafflar och går vidare in på stötdämparna. Det arbetas friskt med gaffel och stötdämpare. Hur de lyckas är för mig en gåta.

Den brutalaste av dessa gafflar är nog  40 RC2 som är en renodlad DH gaffel men vi glömmer inte bort Fox 32 831 Fit RLC gaffeln som är för 4X, Dirt Jump och Dual Slalom. Luftassisterad med 100mm slag men kan justeras upp till 110 / 120mm om man vill och den har 20mm framaxel. Lock Out, low speed kompression, med en fixad high speed  kompression gör det möjligt att sprinta iväg i starterna. Du har även en retur justering, finns i 1 1/8" och 1,5" tapered.

Engineered specifically for 4X, Dirt Jump, and Dual Slalom and their high demand on equipment, the new 831 is based on our 32 mm platform, FLOAT Air Spring technology, and the FIT RLC Damper. The 831's FIT RLC damper is valved with firmer high-speed compression damping and new low-speed compression needle and circuit, to maximize pedaling efficiency when sprinting out of the start gate and absorbing large jump landings. The FLOAT air spring has been optimized to provide more progression, and push back on the rider during high cornering loads. Factory travel is set at 100 mm and is internally adjustable to both 110 and 120 mm for optimal crown-to-axle height tuning. The 831 chassis has increased stiffness at this travel via the use of FOX's longer-travel chassis components normally found on the 32 FLOAT and TALAS forks. The 831 also benefits from Kashima Coat, which significantly reduces stanchion friction for improved feel and durability.

40 FIT RC2 gaffeln har allt vi behöver för att åka nerför Åre skutan mm. Man får låg och snabb hastighets kompression justering och även returdämpning. Fjäder i Titanium som kan ställas in för hårdare framfart, hydraulisk bottom out samt så är gaffeln justerbar i 1/2" steg ner till 6,5"tum. Ja denna gaffel slår 8" tum = 203mm. 20 mm framaxel med 1 1/8"tums styrrör. Kashima Coat på gaffel benen för bästa glid. I år så har man flyttat upp det mesta av justeringarna till toppen på gaffel för att man enklare ska kunna  ställa in den. Den nya FIT dämpare gör att gaffel får en mindre ofjädrad vikt vilket medför att man lättare kan styra in och hantera cykeln.

By placing the new high-and low-speed compression dials on top, we're giving you easier access to fine-tuning your setup. Rebound is now on the bottom of the fork leg and the new knob provides greater clearance.

Float RP23 är en bra luftdämpare. Med sina 3 justeringar då det gäller Pro Pedal så är det faktiskt skönt att cykla ute i skogen då man bestämmer själv hur mycket hjulet ska fjädra. Se kan du även låsa eller ha den öppen i 2 lägen där även din tidigare inställning gör sig gällande. Så position 3 och dämparen låst då är det stumt! Boost Valve är en god sak för oss som gillar att glida fram över rötter och sten. Det fungerar så att du känner hur det svarar när du trampar på men att den endå sväljer rötter och att den sätter in i slutet av slaget på dämparen som gör att man inte känner av ett genomslag. Denna dämpare har retur dämpning.
