Den snabbe och mycket skicklige DH åkare Fabien Barel har skadat sig mycket svårt enligt rapporten från Mondraker och övriga MTB världen.
Fabien Barel som är fabriks förare för Mondraker var och tränade i fredags på Sospel Bike Park där han miste kontrolen på hojen och slog hårt i baken med huvud skada och brott på lårbenet. Det sägs att han blir borta för resten av året tack vare att man inte leker för tidigt med ett lårbens brott! 3 månader är nog det minsta man ska vänta på att det läker, men ni vet dessa DH åkare.Vi önskar Fabien en snabb resa tillbaka till sina DH spår.
Lårbenet är den övre delen av benet.

Fabien Barel gets seriously injured in a training session.
Fabien Barel, Mondraker Factory Team rider, had a serious crash last Friday when he lost control of his bike while he was training in the Sospel Bike Park. According to the doctor, the rider suffered head trauma and the femur broken.
Fortunately, Fabien was with Olivier Cario from “Sospel ATV”, who alerted the gendarmerie and the firemen in order to act quickly to help him. The rider was evacuated in a Civil Service helicopter, he was conscious and he wanted to reassure all the people there, before takingoff. Barel was moved to Monaco, to the Sport Medicine Institute, where he was operated at that very moment. It seems that the recovery will be slow, as the doctor team consider that it will take at least three months to get back at 100%.
Bad luck has allowed the three times world champion gets injured at the beginning of the season. Only a week before of the first World Cup race in Slovenia, where he won last year, Barel is out of the competition. Knowing Fabien and witnessing how fast he got recovered from his knee injury last year, we will not be surprised of seeing him on the competition before we expect and with the same strength which he showed last season in Maribor. Now it is only left to wait for Fabien recuperation, and meantime we will see the rest of the Mondraker Factory Team’s debut in the World Cup, without its captain.
